How to provide feedback and get support during the public Beta

July 28th, 2010

Mark this date: we are going forward with the public Beta of Filmizer.

While we are in the crucial final phases of development, the burden of testing must be shared with more people. Filmizer needs fresh eyes and fresh opinions! To collect these opinions we now have feedback forums.
Obviously we will have testers both for the Italian and the English version of the site, so here are two forums: one for the english speaking crowd and one for the italian lot.
The forums are very simple and don’t require registration: so you don’t have excuses!

Top ten rules for outsourcing work on Elance

July 24th, 2010

Elance is the global marketplace for freelance or outsourced work. Post a requirement, get quotations and proposals from individuals and companies from all over the world. Elance sits in the middle, guaranteeing the most important part of the transaction: the payment.

I have been using Elance to find the right partner to manage the database of Filmizer. These are the top rules to manage outsourcing work in my experience:

1. Communicate openly and clearly.
2. Really! Don’t be shy. Say it all!
3. Write clearly and don’t be afraid to repeat yourself.
4. Take the time to write an operating manual for the activities you want to outsource.
5. Define clear deadlines and get your outsourcing partner to agree on them.
6. Define clear deliverables and get your outsourcing partner to agree on them.
7. Ask specific questions and require unique answers.
8. Always be kind and gentle.
9. Don’t be afraid to end a work relationship that is not working well.
10. Set a high standard both for you and your outsourcing partner.

Hootsuite: my tool of choice to manage Filmizer on the social networks

April 6th, 2010

After a lot of tinkering with hellotxt I tried hootsuite to manage the presence of Filmizer on the major social networks. The interface needs a little learning and it does not manage followers/fans, but overall its the best “social network management tool” I have found yet. I found it truly useful and wanted to share it with you.

Born (again)

March 21st, 2010

I am ready to transcend my old self and start a new blog. I am ready to become the voice Filmizer. I am ready to be born again in this new form and to start a new journey.

What Filmizer is you can read it in the “About Filmizer” page, you can understand our approach towards pressing issues of the world in the “10% to charity” page, how we do what we do you can learn in the “Fair Use” page, if you have any question you can contact “Support”.

This is it for now. Hang in there for news about the development of Filmizer.
